چکیده

We study the diameter, or the mean distance between sites, in a scale-free network, having N sites and degree distribution p(k) proportional, variant k(-lambda), i.e., the probability of having k links outgoing from a site. In contrast to the diameter of regular random networks or small-world networks, which is known to be d approximately ln(N, we show, using analytical arguments, that scale-free networks with 23, d approximately ln(N. We also show that, for any lambda>2, one can construct a deterministic scale-free network with d approximately ln(ln(N, which is the lowest possible diameter.

Navigating ultra-small worlds in ultra-short time

Random scale-free networks are ultrasmall worlds. The average length of the shortest paths in networks of size N scales as lnlnN. Here we show that these ultrasmall worlds can be navigated in ultrashort time. Greedy routing on scale-free networks embedded in metric spaces finds paths with the average length scaling also as lnlnN. Greedy routing uses only local information to navigate a network....

Clustering spectrum of scale-free networks.

Real-world networks often have power-law degrees and scale-free properties, such as ultrasmall distances and ultrafast information spreading. In this paper, we study a third universal property: three-point correlations that suppress the creation of triangles and signal the presence of hierarchy. We quantify this property in terms of c[over ¯](k), the probability that two neighbors of a degree-k...

The procedure of evolution modelling of biochemical networks structure

The exploration of biochemical networks, such as gene regulation, metabolic, protein interaction and signal transduction networks helps to understand better cellular processes, properties and functions of biological system. An important task of biological systems investigation is exploration of biochemical networks evolution and dynamic changes of their structure under pressure of the mutations...

Structural properties of spatially embedded networks

We study the effects of spatial constraints on the structural properties of networks embedded in one or two dimensional space. When nodes are embedded in space, they have a well defined Euclidean distance r between any pair. We assume that nodes at distance r have a link with probability p(r) ∼ r. We study the mean topological distance l and the clustering coefficient C of these networks and fi...
